Welcome Incoming Freshmen!
 Choosing the right high school for your child is an important, and sometimes difficult, decision to make. In order to help parents through this decision-making process, we offer several opportunities for students and their families to get to know Bishop Ward. Please review our Admissions Calendar below and click the links on the left for more information.

2010-2011 Admissions Calendar for Incoming Freshmen
Friday, Oct. 1, 7 p.m.: Middle School Night/Homecoming Football Game Come out for a fun night where you can experience some of Bishop Ward's special school traditions at our Homecoming Game. Middle School students get in for free, plus we'll have fun prizes, face painting and free popcorn! Don't forget to wear black and white and bring your friends! Sunday, Nov. 7, 1-3 p.m.: Open House Families with students of all ages are invited to our Open House, where you can see and experience what Bishop Ward has to offer. You'll get to meet and speak with current parents and students, learn about student activities, meet our great faculty, and have a great time with hands-on activities for the whole family.
November/December: Shadow Days for Catholic School Students & Individual Shadow Days
Saturday, January 8 & 15: Placement Test All 8th grade students considering attending Bishop Ward in 2011-2012 should take our Placement Test. This test is not an entrance exam. It is used to help our counselors place students in the appropriate classes.
Monday, Feb. 1: Enrollment packets are sent out to families Families will be sent freshmen enrollment packets either through the mail or if their child attends a Catholic grade school, the packet will be sent home with the student. Please fill out this paperwork and bring it to either of our Enrollment Nights.
Tuesday & Wednesday, Feb. 25 & 26, 6-8 p.m.: Enrollment Nights At the Enrollment Nights, the class of 2015 freshmen and their parents turn in their enrollment paperwork. They meet with the financial office to discuss tuition and financial aid. They also meet with the counselors to look over their Placement Test scores and choose their classes. Students who speak Spanish will be given a Spanish test to place them at the correct class level.
Tuesday, March 1: Scholarship Deadline
May 3: Scholarship and financial aid letters are mailed to families.
July: New Parent Information sent out to parents with uniform guidelines and orientation dates.
August (date TBD): Freshmen attend orientation. Students will receive schedule, get yearbook photos taken, purchase uniforms, and learn the basics about attending Bishop Ward.
