We know that God's call to serve is deeply personal and special. The Ward Community has witnessed two of these calls in Juan Vazquez (left) and Yavidia Arroyo (right), both graduates of the Class of 2022. Each is on their unique path to fulfilling their call to serve, and graciously wanted to update the school and the Ward community on their journeys.
Juan, the valedictorian of his class, followed his vocational call from God to enter the seminary and begin the journey to priesthood. He is currently in his third year of formation, known as the Discipleship Stage at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, where he continually discovers more about himself and Jesus each day.
Yavidia also followed her heart and God's call to serve after graduation. She is in the religious formation with the Poor of Jesus Christ Sisters and has been for almost two years. Yavidia has had the opportunity to travel the world, serving The Lord and fulfilling the call she felt while still in high school. She began her journey with the Poor of Jesus Christ Sisters in Los Angeles, California, and currently resides at their convent in Canada. As of May, Yavidia has applied for her next phase of formation in Brazil.
When Juan and Yavidia reconnected for the first time since graduation, they both expressed their sincere gratitude to Bishop Ward and the Cyclone family. They attributed Bishop Ward to, "...giving [them] the space to receive [their] calls to follow Jesus more radically."
Juan and Yavidia have asked for the Ward community to continue praying for them as they follow God's call, which they first received at Bishop Ward almost two years ago. The transformation we see in each student who passes through our halls may look very different, but God is constantly reaching deep into our students' hearts, calling them to serve and lead.
Please join us in praying for Juan Vazquez and Yavidia Arroyo, along with all of our current and past Bishop Ward students. God Bless each one of you!
